With over 20 years in public practice, Mathew is one of our Senior Accountants. Working closely with our clients he offers guidance and support to help find the best outcome for your taxation and compliance needs. Mathew also has extensive experience with Xero.

Mathew is a keen bushwalker away from the office and enjoys spending time with his family.

Pip grew up on a mixed farming operation near Deloraine consisting of dairy, sheep, beef, cropping and contracting. With a young family Pip gained her Accounting Qualifications and has worked in public practice and finance broking since. Joining our team in January 2023, her role includes assisting with preparation of financial statements, income tax returns and BAS’s.

Outside of work, Pip assists her family in operating a mixed farming enterprise growing crops and fattening beef cattle. She also finds time to help her hubbie with his Rotary community activities.

Drew started his professional career in sales having spent 21 years working for a large multinational tyre company.  During this time he worked his way from Sales Clerk to National Manager level but has always maintained a keen focus on understanding client needs and requirements and offering support wherever needed.  During this time, Drew continued to advance his studies and general business understanding and gained a Diploma in Business Management along the way.

A change in career direction led Drew to joining the Elphinstone Stevens team in July 2024, where he supports the Senior Accountants with preparation of Financial Statements and Income Tax Returns for clients whilst continuing to develop his knowledge of Taxation and accounting requirements.

Outside of work Drew runs a small beef farming operation with his wife and family. Still an active and keen participant himself in the local sports, (particularly football and cricket), he also spends most weekends supporting and encouraging his two
sons with their own sporting endeavours.

On returning home to Tasmania after nearly 7 years living and working in Queensland, Mel joined our team in February 2019. With an accounting background, Mel is the office guru. She is our administration support and receptionist, greeting you on the telephone and welcoming you when you call in to our Burnie office.

Away from the office, Mel is a keen gardener, loves to cook, and enjoys quality time with her family. She also spends time exploring and enjoying Tasmania’s spectacular rainforests, bushlands, and coastlines particularly through the West Coast areas.

Zali joined the Elphinstone Stevens team in January 2026 after completing her Bachelor of Business at the University of Tasmania and gaining experience with an accounting firm in Launceston.

Having grown up in Burnie, Zali has a strong connection to the local community and enjoys working with local businesses and getting to know the people behind them. She is continuing her professional development through the CPA Program and enjoys expanding her knowledge across accounting, taxation and business.

Outside of work, Zali enjoys spending time with family, friends and her pet cat. She also enjoys reading, travelling and exploring new places, and making the most of the Northwest Coast and everything Tasmania has to offer.

Rivinu moved with his family from Sri Lanka to Australia in 2023. After completing Year 12, he joined the Elphinstone Stevens team in December 2025 and began developing his practical skills and knowledge in accounting and taxation.

Shortly after joining the firm, Rivinu commenced an Accounting and Finance degree at the University of Tasmania. In his role, he supports the team with the preparation of financial statements, income tax returns and business activity statements, while continuing to develop his knowledge through practical experience and university studies.

Outside of work and university, Rivinu enjoys four-wheel driving, camping, hiking and exploring Tasmania’s outdoors.
